How it started: A 240 Wakui following the guidance of KKF members

How it’s going (16 months later): let’s say the bug bit me pretty hard.

What is the western handled kurouchi gyuto at the bottom? Looks great!
Low nose, nice profile, good sized handle, looks like decent height?

Yes Moritaka Honesuki. Great knife, especially after thinning down to a zero bevel and a good kasumi polish.

Did you make those mag blocks?

No. They were purchased from a guy on Etsy. He was great, sent me a bunch of photos with wood options and was very communicative all along the way. He can do anything you want custom. Not the cheapest, but not bad. $150 each for 30 inch boards, which is similar pricing to others I was looking at.
