So this is an embarrassing one. Had a Komorebi damascus santoku (really more a 180mm gyuto) with a custom curly mango handle that I love. Problem is I'm anal sometimes, and I wish there was more dama cladding to core ratio. Homebutcher had the hatsu sale going on so I thought great! Will pick up the one he has in stock, swap the handles, and then sell the one with less cladding. Egg on face moment...the handle was attached with epoxy. Ugh why doesn't everyone use hot glue at this point it's so lazy. Anyways so now I can't swap handles. So gonna have to sell one. Guess it will be the brand new one with the nice ebony+marble horn and nicer cladding since I already used the other.

Anyway, to get to the point.

Never used, still has lacquer.

Specs: 185x51mm Spine at Heel 3.23mm
Water quenched sanmai dama blue 1 63hrc.
Jnat finished
Ebony+marble horn

Spec page: Hatsukokoro Komorebi 180mm Santoku

MSRP of $400, take for $265 shipped G&S, or $255 fee-less payment methods, trying to break as close to even as I can, but am losing money regardless. Priority or UPS ground in the US, will cover first $15 to ship overseas.

With my handle swap that was not to be.

Komorebi Damascus line has an excellent grind. The profile looks like it could be considered a gyuto even. Glws!

I prefer the higher cladding. Temping as I've got a 240 and 210. GLWS.
I definitely don't hate the high cladding, I just prefer the more even look. For fun used some uchi fingerstones and really brought the cladding to life. The custom handle one I'd sell for $325 if anyone is interested and then I'd keep the stock ebony. But I love the curly mango so I'd prefer to keep that one.

Never mind, I see its sold
