Finally got the Certificate of Occupancy ... starting to move in ...

Kitchen ... almost exactly what I wanted ... might make a couple mods in the future ... TBD

BlueStar 8 burner w/ 54" hood (in-line blower + muffler / amazingly quiet have a Fantech makeup air system)
Wolf Double Ovens
Thermador Refrig (went smaller than original design for cost but likely swap out to the original columns ...)
Elkay prep and farmhouse sinks ... bitchin IMO
Bosch dishwasher
Undercounter microwave (espresso machine will be above on the countertop)

Countertops are quartz for the working surfaces (all around) and quartzite ("Michelangelo") on the island - stupid pretty

Few other view of the great room fire place/tv wall, master bath and a sunset from a little while ago out the back of the property (same way the house views are - southern toward the Olympic range and the sun of course ...

Will try and pull off a PNW_G sometime when possible ... need to do a bunch of planning ... get my outdoor cooking are done ... 2X BGE's and 1X Moberg Offset Smoker plus a bitchin jet burner Wok setup ... someday ...

Beautiful kitchen. You left out the most important detail…where are the knives going?!?
Fair enough ...

I asked Will at Newham Knives to make me 3X long mag knife bars .... plus 1X short live edge

I am still working through the logistics but thinking of either a knife display on the left when facing the island or in the immediate pantry on the wall ... some of it is obviously what do I want out of it and the other thought is just folks not understanding someone having that many knives (i.e. "dexter") ... my kitchen my rules but one has to be cognizant ...

The live edge one is meant to go next to the rangetop or mounted to a nice block of wood on the island ...

TjA

Only Tasmanian woods were used ... its important to me that things are local ...

Congrats!!

That’s a killer house. The countertop and that extra extra shower/bath setup are beautiful.

I hate moving with a passion but this would be most worth it.

Beautiful!

Kitchen looks fantastic. You will never regret going with big sinks, and all of the lighting.

...so when's the KKF GTG??? 😁

I'm actually wondering what mods you were considering, since this kitchen seems to get virtually everything 'right'. And I'm saying that as someone who normally tends to find flaws in almost every kitchen shown in fancy house tours.

Hi Jovidah / the original design had a 36" column refrigerator instead of the combo refrigerator/freezer. Another 30" column freezer only was in the pantry. I left the cabinetry so I could make that change in the future if the combo refrig/freezer doesn't fit my needs (likely will but TBD). I also have a chest freezer in the garage so not worried about freezer space.

That island appears to be a single piece, and not the usual 4x8. Very nice accent.

Very nice. You have plenty of storage for some nice pans.

Maybe even a garden.

Well.......you obviously make a lot more money than me...

TBD - been saving for 35+ years to make this happen ... not judging just been what I have wanted to be have for a very long time ... living in SoCal and moving to a different location helped quite a bit as well ... plus thx to Covid pricing I now get to "enjoy" still working for some time ... oh well / at least when I am home I can cook to my hearts content ... you are more than welcome to come and visit! Plenty of knives to play with ... TjA

Hi Dan - the quartzite island is a 3 cm single piece 5' X 10' ... perfect for the room IMO ... called Michelangelo which besides how perfect it was for the other tile and quartz (man made) was a nod to my amazing father who is an artist ... despite having produced engineers / computer scientists for kids ... plus one amazing younger brother who has a landscaping business ..

Sorry for my late reply ...

Finally got some art work and "stuff" up and into the home ... now traveling again ... plus a little test of "find the Maine **** cats in the 3rd photo" plus I had to put up another TV quickly for the house sitter before I mounted the other TV (no time) ... happy kitties now ... took some time to settle them (painful for me) but they are happy happy happy ...

No paw prints in the snow? Do the ***** get to go outside and play? Looks like they would have the time of their (9) lives there. I guess the sofa is too comfy...

They are super models ... so no playing in the snow although it would have been a lot of fun to let them ... lots of coyotes in the area (not to mention Golden and Bald Eagles) ...
