Hello Everyone,

It's here, it's finished, and does it ever shine! This blade is comprised of 5 layers, 2 layers each mild steel and 15n20 (nickel bearing high carbon steel) for the jacket and an O1 tool steel core. The handle is torrified and oil finished cherry. This is a heavier workhorse of a knife, quite forward balanced with a heavy distal taper that runs right past the neck. The spine and neck are well radiused and polished in the same fashion as the blade, and the core is readily discernable.

This blade constitutes a practice piece, and more variations will be along in the coming weeks with an Apex Ultra core.
  • Blade: 250mmx59mm O1 tool steel/15n20/mild steel go-mai (63hrc) 2k finish, etched and polished
  • Neck: 16mmx22mm
  • Handle: 123mm, tapering from 24mmx23mm to 21mmx20mm, torrified cherry, oil finished.
  • POB: 80mm from handle
  • Spine: 5.02mm at the neck, 3.18mm at halfway, 1.00mm 1cm from the tip
  • Grind: flat to convex RH bias
  • Weight: 273 grams
  • Relieved choil and spine
  • Edge: .1mm
Asking $550 $500 U.S + $25 U.S for shipping with insurance anywhere in North America. International will be in the ballpark of $50-$75 U.S depending on the area.

Thanks! The cladding line came out pretty dramatic on this one.

THIS IS THE WAY!

@MSicardCutlery is gonna have either a good chuckle or shart himself when he sees the spec sheet for that custom come in!
That could be the first project where I have to allocate for replacement wheel bearings in my quote...maybe a new motor, shop's getting a little old too....
