Not a common layer or mine. Been hunting for akapins for awhile now and landed a smattering of them all at once. Extra soft, I'd call it a 2/5 and fairly coarse (3-/5). This thing just eats up hard steel and leaves a very matte kasumi finish. Small, but consistent scratches visible in soft iron. Super easy to use, even for a total novice. Perfect for after synthetics and before finer stones. Sealed in cashew but missing a small corner that is chipped on the bottom. Happy to spray seal over it for you if you want.
