Hi all.

I'm on the lookout for a 26 cm stainless stewpot that work well on induction.

I have a lagostina lagofusion 26 cm sautepan, and an obvious choice would be a stewpot in that line.

I can't helt wondering though if I can assume the rivet will be water tight. Or can I risk they will leak when boiling water or other thin fluids?

Have a nice day.

Thanks
Søren

I don't particularly like rivets (things get stuck on them, harder to clean), but I've never had a rivetted handle leak on me, even if they got some wiggle room over time that made them loosen up.
But you could look at Demeyere if you're losing sleep over it; most of their handles are welded.

Never had any trouble with riveted handles (beyond cleaning) as noted above and have used them pretty hard for 10+ years on many of my pots and pans.

We had some pots in a previous commercial kitchen that leaked through the rivet holes. That occurred from just plain heavy use I'd assume. Fixed them with the use of a hammer and anvil. Easy peasey.

I just bought an All Clad copper core 5.5qt Dutch oven pot. It seems like a nice size. Rivets are no problem with All Clad. All Clad also makes an 8 qt copper core pot which I own and use but I sometimes want a smaller version. I am in the US where All Clad is made. They are easy to come by.

i dont think i have ever seen a rivet leak. not on a pot. aluminum boat, yes. pot no.

Never had a rivet leak on me either and I do plenty of soups and stews in pots with riveted handles.
