The yo-handled blazen (sg2) knives are super hard to track down now :( You might want to look at the bontenunryu series in vg10. I'm sure that Ryusen's treatment of vg10 is vastly superior to some of the stuff that's out here. I can only find one 180 western in stock at the moment, at a Hungarian retailer:

Beyond that, I sold a 180 blazen wa-gyuto (not western) to @Barashka back in March. Hopefully he's still happy with it but if he's decided to move on, that is one potential lead. I also sold a 210 yo-gyuto blazen to @ditomura back in March. So a bit longer than what you're looking for, but at least it's a western. Again, always love to see a satisfied buyer, so I'd be thrilled if @ditomura is still enjoying his knife, but I also totally understand that people like to cycle through multiple options so that is another potential lead if either if you are interested.

Good luck, dude. I spent almost an entire year combined tracking down a blazen western 240 gyuto and 270 suji set. It can be done!

yeah i know they are impossible to find. i used to have a 240 i sold years ago when they were more available. JKI has a wa 175mm bunka that could potentially work but id rather the gyuto profile.

Thanks for the help!!

Sorry, I’m going to give this knife to my son when he goes away to college in a couple of years. It’s a great knife, low maintenance and it came with a Saya for storage. If you’re looking for a 180mm gyuto, I think the Shindo’s from Tokushu knife and the Okubo’s from knifejapan are pretty good alternatives. Although they’re both blue #2 and come with wa handles they’re both excellent cutters and great values.
