Unofficial sequel to @Ok__mode_6953's Sakai Bangers post...
Sale price includes PP G&S fees.
For buyers interested in fee-free payment methods, I’ll offer the knives at the discounted trade value shown above.
Either way, fully insured/tracked CONUS shipping is included. I’ve shipped internationally and can cover the first $15 for international buyers; PM and we can discuss.
Mainly looking to sell, but would be very interested in trading for knives listed in the spoiler below (fairly specific as I'm looking to narrow down my collection):
Migoto/Nakagawa x Kawakita W1 Kasumi 270 Gyuto
Blacksmith: Satoshi Nakagawa
Sharpener: Kawakita Hamono
Steel: White 1/Iron clad
Edge Length: 262mm
Heel Height: 54.5mm
Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 3.25mm / 3.15mm / 2.68mm / 0.65mm
Weight: 296g
Handle: Ebony, imitation ivory, triple nickel/ginmaki spacer octagonal (see other handle options below)
Purchased from Cliffkol: SOLD - Migoto White1, gyuto 270mm, Nakagawa, minimal usage
More info: Migoto White 1 Gyuto 270mm
Lightly used – a few patina spots and there's wear to the handle as shown in photos/video. Includes original packaging.
Pretty cool specs for a Sakai 270. The line is described as kasumi, but the finish is more migaki-like IMO.
Purchased from BST with a very under-sized custom handle. Upgraded to a heavier custom handle that places the balance point right at the Migoto kanji (spot-on IMO). If you prefer a more minimalist handle (and more forward balance), I have two like-new handles that I could offer for a nominal sum (say, $30 each): an ebony/black horn (reduces weight by ~10g) and a rosewood/black horn (reduces weight by ~30g). See photos here.

Migoto/Nakagawa x Kawakita B1 Suminagashi 255 Gyuto
Blacksmith: Satoshi Nakagawa
Sharpener: Kawakita Hamono
Steel: Blue 1/Iron suminagashi clad kurouchi
Edge Length: 243mm
Heel Height: 55mm
Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 3.59mm / 3.18mm / 2.63mm / 0.71mm
Weight: 234g
Handle: Ebony mono octagonal
Purchased from Scott: SOLD - Shihan (Ginrei) 240mm & Migoto Suminagashi Sakai 255mm
More info: Migoto Blue 1 Suminagashi Gyuto 255mm
Very, very lightly used. No patina. Original edge — never sharpened/stropped. Includes original packaging.
One of the more stunning J-knives I’ve seen: maximalist contrast between rustic, textured kurouchi and intricate, polished damascus. Note that the kurouchi looks slightly worn-in even when new – as Migoto states, it’s leftover forge scale rather than a uniform coating. See my photos/video and photos at Migoto.
Konosuke Tetsujin B2 240 Gyuto
Trade value: $425 / Sale value: $475
Blacksmith: Toru Tamura
Sharpener: Myojin Naohito
Steel: Blue 2 kasumi/Iron clad
Edge Length: 233mm
Heel Height: 50mm
Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 3.06mm / 2.94mm / 2.06mm / 0.53mm
Weight: 185g
Handle: Khii ebony + oak octagonal
More info from CKTG and Tosho
Lightly used – a few patina spots as shown in photos/video. Original edge — never sharpened/stropped. Includes original packaging.
Yep, it’s got the sweet, sweet Kono stamp.
