Large sized Translucent Arkansas Stone from Natural Whetstone Company. Actual size is 7 7/8 x 2 7/8 x 1 inch. Thicker than most of their offerings now.
Both sides were lapped up to 400 grit SiC powder on a float glass plate, and one side taken further to 1200 grit wet/dry paper on a granite plate.
Both sides have been lightly used, so they do have some metal deposition which has slightly smoothed them again.
There are a few small edge chips that are within the beveled edges of the stone, but do not interfere with sharpening. There are some fissures that are not palpable or noticeable when sharpening / honing.
Comes in a typical Arkansas stone box.
Retail for the 3/4 inch thick stone is now $309.
