I stumbled upon this and wonder what you guys know about knives like these. I wonder what such a knife's intended use is. It's very thick, so maybe a hunting/boning knife? Or is it just intended as decoration?
Also, I wonder what one can say about the quality. On the one hand, it has some visible flaws, and certainly is very far from a premium product. On the other hand, my impression is that some effort went into it. At least it is not a super-cheapo kind of thing. (or is it?) EDIT: Seems like it lol.
Knife's story: A family member bought it. First it rusted, which angered them already. They sent it to a knife person to repair it. They were annoyed again when the knife came back without the pattern because the surface had been cleaned. They thought it was ruined until I just put it into some humid coffee powder to quickly restore some of the pattern. The lower part of the knive hat some oil on it so it's irregular. All of this lead the person to the conclusion that this thing is too much hassle, so they asked me whether I wanted it for free.
Here's some macro shots for fun.
