No idea what you're talking about, it's clearly on there, and clearly not just added because one of the two times I wrote nashiji was supposed to be it.

For gyuto's, I have no idea if the type of finishing polish on the ones I've used even had a name.

For usuba's and yanagiba's, the only ones I've used are kasumi's. No experience with anything else so far.

Mirror is nice for display purpose, but not a good performing finish for actual use.

Some issues with the options. Damascus (cladding) isn't really a finish. Just like iron cladding is not a finish. There can also be overlap of multiple, for example you can have ku on the blade and still have kasumi finish on the blade road.

I guess I just don't understand the purpose of this poll, seems a little all over the place.

Really, there can be overlap with almost any of them if you want. It's not a perfect system. Fortunately, it isn't being used for any official or academic purpose, so I don't see that as a huge problem.

They are all still finishes even if they're achieved differently. The fact that they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive doesn't prevent someone from having a favorite. The purpose is just fun and discussion. If you want to comment that you voted tsuchime, but you really only want that for a half-inch strip in the middle of the face, above which you want the KU in tact and below which you want a mirror polish, I have no idea where you'll find that, but more power to you. I wouldn't overthink it.

My favorite is whatever is easiest to replicate at home / blend into my attempts at sharpening and thinning. So... longitudinal migaki or satin finish I guess?
