it has been a wild ride. the money I spent fixing my stucco leak at my back door was the best money I spent in 2022. we are high and dry.

to the rain, my rain gauge at work said 5" when I dumped it Sunday. I bet it is over flowing again. my fishing lakes near my home are closed due to flooding out. my big county lake has been unfishable for the most part because the boat ramp is 400 feet from the edge of the water. I can't get my kayak down and up that hill. it came up 15 feet in a day!! I dont think that ramp will open, but it will be close. close enough for me to try with my kayak. I am stubborn like that.

I think the weather says rain for the next 16 days.

the red X is my city approximated. hahha.. you could almost photo shop Florida under that cyclone. out east they call it and arctic cyclone. out west it is an "atmospheric River". hahah

Best of luck to all. That much rain coming down at once is something to behold - reminds me of when Harvey came through and the areas around me saw 60-80" in a few days. Some of the hardest rain I've ever seen for days and days straight.

We are getting a lot of rain (relative to normal) down in So Cal, but the north is getting hit hard. Since we have been in a drought for so long we need it, but spacing it out a bit more would have been nice. Great news on the snowpack.

Yeah Oakland, and SF have a bunch of flooding. People have been kayaking in the streets. Some streets have water coming up to the windows of cars. Drove by an overpass with a car underneath completely submerged with a person standing on the roof.

CA is always in a tough spot with H2O. So Cal in particular.

Perpetually in a drought, the excess rain actually plays a big role in potentially paying forward more issues in late spring and hot summers that often extend into late October.

This is because more rain = more wild brush growth.

More wild brush = more easy start kindling for any manner of easy start wildfire: nature, dumba$$ amateur campers, cigs, homeless, arson, and gender reveal parties .

So crazy to ponder that more rain potentially means more issues down the line.

Heard the Santa Cruz area got it with some monster waves over the weekend up to 22’. More rain on the way!!
