It's time to sell my remaining gyutos.
First up for sale is a Xerxes Primus I - 230mm gyuto.
I have the original Messerkontor Box and papers.
Cuts better than my watanabe 180mm nakiri but sadly it's not a rectangle.
I am asking 875usd shipped.

Edge Length: 230mm
Height: 50mm
Weight: 195g
Steel: 125sc taken around 63 HRC
Handle: copper and bog oak

Handle was listed as bog oak on the Messerkontor site originally. I actually have a screenshot of the original product page saved.

The handle is oiled bog oak with copper pin and plate, or "geölter Mooreiche mit Kupferpin und Kupferablsclussplatte" per the paperwork incl. with knife. Please see below:

also, even though the lighting is different, the handles do look different to me. NKW's has that characteristic dark look to it like bog oak (like campbell's kamon). campbell's xerxes handle looks lighter.

Not all bog oak has the same species of oak and it can have a lot of variation. Here's an array of variations.
