Just a random stainless Nakiri from one of those used Japanese knife dealers on ebay, but it's super thin and seems to hold a super sharp edge. The occasion was my eldest daughter's birthday.

Yeah, you do wonder. But you'd think they'd be protective of their trademark quality. These are clearly being sold by Wusthof even if not made by them. They sell them on their website.
