Hello All,
Here a couple of 180mm petties as promised. There were 3, but one has already been acquired. I don't want to overboard with specs on these, given that they're petties, so I'll given a short than typical list.
They're both 180mm X 30mm, belt finished MagnaCut at around 63hrc. The only real difference is that one has a burned oak handle, and the other has a maple handle. The burned oak is oiled and waxed. The POB's are about 4-5mm ahead of the handles, and the oak handled blade weighs 97g, while maple weighs 98g. Both blades are approximately .2mm bte @2mm bte.
I originally intended to offer these for the same price as the last petty, but working in a batch has given me a better idea of just how much grinding goes into these little knives, and I lowballed my first estimate. I kid you not, I could make a 220mm X 55mm gyuto in AEB-L with the same number of belts. With that in consideration, I'm still going to price them lower than I would a larger gyuto in AEB-L.
I'm asking $205 U.S each shipped with insurance anywhere in North America, for shipping to Europe or Australia I will cover the first $25 U.S of shipping. I'll also knock off $25 they sell/ship together.
