Hi, I’m wondering if there is a significant different between ordering a knife from Miura vs shops based in the US. In some cases, Miura may have a knife in stock that CKC or Strata or Bernal is out of, and it can even be cheaper (including shipping). Am I risking anything by ordering from Miura? Do the US based shops perform an extra QC step? I know JKI gives each knife a bit of TLC before selling, but JKI is special.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I couldn’t find this answer here.

Also ordered from Miura without difficulty.

That said, you you should always take a close look at return policies. Some stores (speaking generally, not about Miura specifically) make the customer pay return shipping even for a defective or damaged item. If you want a hand-inspection of your purchase before shipping, best to just ask if that's a service they offer; I can imagine high volume stores don't do it by default but would likely do it upon request.
