Without meaningfully damage the blade
Rubbed for a minute. Doesn’t seem to do much…do I soak it?You could try acetone; that has accidentally removed the ink on some of my kanji.
If you have a tall-enough container, you can boil the acetone. Best done outdoors!
For me anything that came off with acetone tended to come off quite easily. So if it doesn't come off wth just some mild scrubbing with a paper towel I guess you have ink that doesn't dissolve in acetone.
I'd suggest contacting the maker/vendor to find out the best way to remove it?
I got it through a trade and I think it came from a small boutique Japanese site…doubt they will respond but I can give it a try. Maybe I’ll ask James at KnS since he has strong connection with S Tanaka…I'd suggest contacting the maker/vendor to find out the best way to remove it?
Dude…we can meet at meet fresh next week if you can bring this thing with you…This will buff it right out.
0000 steel wool should take care of the drag.I don’t like it though…it “scratches” / “drags” when cutting
I'd think so, but can't make any promises. Will give it a try this weekend. I want to send it to JKI to get spine and choil rounded. You guys think they can easily remove the ink?
