Stupid question I'm sure, but where is everyone getting their Takada suminagashi from? Seems like an explosion of them...and I want one.

I present to you ladies and mostly gentlemen… the Suiboku 240 Suminigashi forged by Nakagawa-San

Thinking about switching out one of the handles but not sure yet.

oh hello @Lucidknives

I’m curious to see how you like the grind on this one compared to your several santoku and nakiri. I never tried a Mune mostly because I’m unsure how it performs on harder veggies (I prep a lot of those), but I could be wrong.
Cut some Acorn and Butternut squash for you 😉

Fox handmade 8.75 gyuto with hamon in W2 and a dyed maple handle. LASER this thing is so light. I think the handle might be a little too skinny for me, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet so we'll see. The blade itself though is incredibly well done and it's absolutely gorgeous.

Wondering the same. Does anyone know how people visit his shop and if he has knives in stock there? I have a friend in japan right now who might be willing to stop by.
I visited his workshop just last week. I just dropped in bc it was an unscheduled decision to go there, but if you want to make sure he is there (or not in the middle of something) at a specific time, or check in advance if he has something specific you want, you can message him on instagram. He is apparently very responsive and happy to chat (and in person he was super lovely). He has limited stock in his workshop at any given time, but he had multiple Suiboku gyutos for example, including at least one Tanaka forged 240 damascus Suiboku.

Was my second custom from Dominik. Since he had some failures with damascus we talked about his Dami with KU and decided on trying nickel wrought Dami with a light twist. His work is really nice, cuts better than you'd expect, especially the tip.
