solo stove makes several products. which do you want opinions on?

I went with a breeo over a solo. I wanted a lid and a firepit I didn’t have to store inside when not in use. Additionally in my city the fire department doesn’t allow open fire pits, but the do allow you to grill over an open flame. (It’s a rule that is only enforced when a cranky neighbor complains ). These days there are many knockoffs available for less $$.

i considered getting a solo fire pit or other "smokeless" fire pit but didn't.

though more thermally efficient, they seem to consume fuel faster and also direct the heat upwards.

radiating the heat outwards is a big part of the appeal when friends and i have fires. it gets chilly at night.

note that i've never actually used one, but that's why i was afraid to buy one.

I do think they consume wood faster. My breeo has the least smoke when it’s run hot. I have the grilling post and will place the lid on that post/grill to reflect heat downward.

We went with the 24” Breeo over the solo. Mainly because we could use normal sized firewood in it and for the accessories. Cooking over an open flame with good wood is fun and challenging

so is it true that they don't keep you warm like a normal campfire? is the heat actually mostly directed upwards?
