Sigh… all this business makes me sad. I’ll be honest I like kkf. I like it a lot. Much better than Reddit for obvious reasons. People are nice and it’s a real community. But this has clearly cause quite a divide….. I wish mom and dad would just stop fighting

Most of the big collectors have moved to Instagram. I bought a fair few things last year, but I don't think even one came from here....

It’s not just buying or selling its the community. Yea, only a few are super active but it is having people give you good answers

So, let's put some things in perspective...

Clearly, I've been pretty vocal about my displeasure in the way this situation has been handled and I remain disappointed. I've left other large forums so I get what all that means to us as individuals.

As members, we owe the mod staff the benefit of the doubt in executing their roles. I know firsthand how challenging that can be. We must also understand that we don't always get to know the why's and what-for's. It just wouldn't be practical and to be honest, isn't always needed. A lot of mod actions can cause an uproar but members will be missing key details or overlooking aspects of the situation. So basically, I get it.

I want to reiterate that I think the mod staff here does a great job. Official mod interjections are rare, almost always patient, and in my experience from what I've seen, fully justified.

Because of this, I still give them the benefit of the doubt with the root cause of this situation and say again that for me, it has been the handling of it, not the original issue. Yes, I find the ban disturbing and unfortunate and hope that can be worked out, but the way it was presented, hidden, and never addressed is what I find most upsetting.

I have no intentions, at least as of now, to leave this community. Yes, I cancelled my paid subscription and that shall remain that way for the foreseeable future. The forum offers no incentive beyond just helping keep the place afloat, which I've been happy to help do, right up until my support isn't valued. No, no member of the staff owes me any kind of personal explanation, that isn't what I mean. But I also feel like when I'm voluntarily paying (read donating) money, I can have some basic expectations or I can choose not to donate that money any more.

But I also really enjoy the information and members here. I really value learning from all of you and enjoy being able to help others where I'm able to. A forum is a business sure, but it's also a community and without the community, there is little business.

I've just chosen to not financially support the business any more but I fully intend to keep supporting the community as best as I can and to keep deriving as much from you all as I can. Most folks won't even care about all of this and many won't be aware it even happened. Nothing in this, at least to me, is egregious enough for me to lose the value I find in the members here and I what I get out of the place personally.

That is probably not bad. Cheese, fat, and salt go well together. The only thing wrong with it is the Marmite. Any sane person would have used Vegemite instead.
