Oh I missed this!
Thanks for the share!
Wow, that's the most impressive thing I've seen in a long time. I've done a bit of ceramics and seen some talented folks, but this just blew my mind. Some incredible technical finesse that was just glazed over like it aint no thang. Just her control over that pattern and how she's able to get it into a homogeneous slab without structual flaws or air bubbles without distorting it...
I wish they had shown more of how she made the original template pot from which the mold was cast. Getting the 2 halves back together evenly and symmetrically after taking the impression from the original shell would have been cool to see.

Where's tgraypots? He would appreciate this.

I think I have some more videos similar to that one. I'll dig them up some time. But yeah, simply incredible what she does; I can't even wrap my head around it.

Meanwhile, a great, relaxing video of a sword quench.

Really pretty. Relaxing indeed.... except you don't actually get to see it hit the water. That jump cut is just like .25seconds too soon. ARG! what a tease.

i saw this last night and thought it was a very well composed video by carter... it sums up nicely a lot of things i often try to explain to people about japanese blacksmiths

Kinda the difference of his videos and what we see with Ken's. It's what I try to explain to cooks that just try to "get it done" vs. trying to get it perfect every time. Nice post John.

Or if you prefer, Murray Carter is undoubtedly a master of his craft, Ken is a moron.

Marvellous video, eloquent and engaging in equal measure.

That really is a great video, Jon.

One of the many amazing super-human pianist prodigies out there. Now well established.

Just read your hilarious exchange with that idiot. I would like to see the results of introducing that "expert" to some of our other favorite "experts". Trolls cannot be educated.

Finally got around to looking at the comments....I can only manage an unintelligible conflation of "meh" and "ugh" with that guy.

Take satisfaction that you were the most important thing that happened to him that day.

There's no way someone could be that frigging stupid right?

I think he is working hard at trying to troll. not sure why he anyone does that stuff. The video still is getting people trolling others.

ChefC nice share. Started sort of gimmicky but when he killed the Rice. I've never wanted to bow to anyone in my life but that thought came to my mine after watching that clip

it is fascinating that he reacts in such a short time to pull his sword and cut tiny bb pellet ..Cutting the rice grain was overkill..:surrendar:

That reminded me of this video. When it comes to locks, it's hard to beat the Scandanavians. :)
