Maz has clean bevels than most J-knives and this only took me a few hours. Thanks to the clean grind and smaller bevel.
I can see why many are a fan of his.

I imagine the violent patina his cladding takes kinda covers your lovely work pretty quickly
True, but the patina that hits on a fresh polish is always the most vibrant.

Finished installing new handles on this pair of b#1 workhorses. Yoake ku 240, and Y Tanaka cleaver. Both handles from the same piece of Tasmanian blackwood. Still need to clean up the blades a bit but couldn't resist taking some quick photos first.
Received a TNH G3 HH today and working on making a “Suiboku at home”. Love the subtle convexity this guy has. Did kind of a mid job erasing all the lower grit scratches before etching so will revisit this project but happy with how it looks for a first effort. Would appreciate any tips with etching stainless and leaving interesting patterns!
Just finished prepping the wife’s “care package” for an evening with the kids, and I guess my knife preferences really do have a type

Not sure if there is an etching thread that this would be more suited or if videos are allowed here but I polished the TNH HH a bit more and attempted a different acid concentration and am pretty happy with the results! It’s no Suiboku but it’s visually interesting to me
