I've found 100mm petties but am trying to find if ashi produces a <100mm parer (80? 90?) in the ginga series, preferably in aeb-l with a western handle.
Any leads?

maybe i'm blind but i don't see any < 100 ashi petties there? there are some 100s by ashi and then some <100s by other makers. help lol
Now that we have your attention anyway:they do run short in wa versions
There is a very simple reason for it: short knives used on a board have a short life span. Small contact area, a lot of sharpening. Compare 180, 150 and 120 petties. Go figure for a 90mm. No chance in finding short vintages: within a few years all ground away.Ah yeah that makes sense. I admit this problem also plays for me; for some reason it's much easier to justify 200 euros for a big knife than 100 for a small knife, even though the labor and production costs just don't scale down that well.
