Thanks! Btw, what thickness would you recommend for a good laser?
The Konosuke HD2 appears to be 2.2mm or 0.08 inches.
My first batch was 0.125 in. It felt thick for a laser. 0.09 or 0.07 in.

Yeah, turns out this isn't really worth doing.

Assuming 10 blades ordered and $10 for shipping from me to each participant:
Guy who wants 4 blades is only saving $4 a blade.
Guy who wants 1 blade is only saving $7.50.

Ah well. Cheers for alerting us newcomers to the possibility of this tho, and for looking into it.

I'd still be interested, even if I'm not saving money.

I figured that the hard part (speccing steel, designing profile, etc) are done already.
Knowing that this is a winning profile for a picky connoisseur...priceless

Is this project still going on?

If it is, I'll probably have my blanks shipped to BJE1 for grinding.
Looking forward to this project becoming a thing!

i have used an upside down wood/floor sander (75 wide x 457 long belts) for several hardened blades. it takes about an hour or so to grind them out. belts last 3-10 minutes. this was on low alloyed but hard carbon steels though.

these grinders can be had for 30-40 bux i guess. get 40 grit belts!!

Have you guys used the stock patterns offered?

I'm completely new at this, so could use some recommendations. Hardness-- I'm assuming 60-61 AEBL is a good user?
