Hey everyone, Thinking about picking one of these up and was curious if anyone has had experience with some of the cheaper options out there? With shipping a Kasfly is around $150AUD from Aliexpress but there's some other's around the $90-$100AUD mark. Figured they couldn't be that different but I remember buying a cheap diamond lapping plate from CKTG ages ago that was very noticeably warped hence completely useless. Don't want a repeat of that.

There is the large version of the Kaslfy (230x114) at $270 but the width seems like it would probably be inconvenient for kitchen knives.

Some links for reference:

Yeah. Kasfly is pretty good. My go to for any heavy thinning.

Same problem to get a Kaslfy in europe, shipping fees are way too much

Sharp edge shop seems also to have a very kasfly like stone holder with a flat 10 dollars shipping fee, no experience with them yet though :

i've bought from them once. they sent the wrong stuff :) but were very accommodating and fast to send me the right order, not making a fuss about the faulty items i got to keep.

.

Sounds like it's probably worth splashing out and spending the extra $50 for the known quantity. I guess in theory it's going to last a life time so that's $50 I'm going to forget about pretty quickly.

I have purchased magnetic knife holder from sharp edge, very well made, and customer support was exceptional

I have the sink Kasfly bridge and the wide sandpaper holder. Both good products. The wide holder is actually pretty good for thinning knives as you have far more surface area to work with before swapping sheets.

As the Kasby is no real option for me in Europe, I use this one.
