Looks like some pretty awesome banding underneath that patina. What did it look like polished?


The banding was absurd, if I hadn’t learned about banding from the forums you could’ve convinced me it was a very fine Damascus. Unfortunately one of the new knives I didn’t take newly wed photos of, and the original sale post also didn’t capture the banding.

I would say it was pretty similar, maybe just a little lighter than the banding on my kemadi bulat. Once you know it’s there you see it in every angle, otherwise you need the light to hit it the first time.

While I had Perfect Patina Picture lighting, I wanted to grab a current comparison of my Kochis to show how differently they're taking on color. The iron cladding he uses displays more purple than most others I've seen
