Dear UPS driver

Please actually take my package to the UPS Store, and do t just claim you did. Take it off the truck, and take it inside. Tomorrow, please and thank you.

The UPS store says they believe it’s at the hub, just hanging out.

Of course, if he’d used the address I gave him…..

Oh yeah? We shall see in about four hours.

I received a USPS notification that my wa knife handle shipped from Tokushu Knife in Tennessee a week ago Monday. They gave an ETA of Thursday April 11. Friday, USPS tracking still said delivery by Thursday, but we knew that wasn't happening. Saturday it updated to "in transit from Chattanooga." Sunday at 5:02pm it updated to "arrived at Memphis Distribution Center." So, one week from Chattanooga to Memphis. Today it just says "in transit," with no ETA or further info. Arrrgh!

I don't blame Tokushu Knife - they shipped promptly. It's USPS that's fumbling here.

USPS here will frequently say something has been delivered to my PO Box but the call tag doesn’t show up for several days, or sometimes never.

I have to go up to the desk and beseech them to find my **** like some sort of unworthy worm.

They have parcel lockers but I have no idea why as they do not seem to use them.

UPS strikes again. I ordered a strop. It arrived at the UPS facility in Glendale, AZ in one day - it's about 50 miles from my residence. The next day tracking showed it arrived in San Jose, CA! What? Three days later it still shows it at the carrier facility in San Jose, CA.

Bought a knife on B/S/T on the 15th, shipped on the 16th, disappeared into the USPS "in transit" void until the morning of the 25th when it at least arrived in my state (and hasn't moved since).

What the heck was it doing for 9 days in the void?! 😂

USPS this morning: "We don't know where your stuff is. Why are you even asking?"
Also USPS this morning: "Hahahahahaha! Fool! You weren't home and thus your package has been relegated to a shadowy realm between realities! GFYS."

Another “no one was home” when I was home the whole day. Thanks DHL

This used to happen to me every single time with USPS. I ended up calling in to my local branch, and complaining ranting to their supervisor, and he ended up calling up my postman (left him on speakerphone) and disciplined him with me on the line.

PostGuy tried to blame my "vicious dog" for barking every time he comes to the door, so whenever we have a package that needs a signature, he would just say we weren't home and make us go in to pick it up.

Since, the postman has been kissing our aces every time he sees us, and all packages since come straight to my door.

Alright gang, looking for any good ideas here….i messed up

I ordered some sharpening stones ($250) and paid through PayPal. I almost immediately realized the shipping address defaulted to an address I had in Texas (now in Philadelphia)

I emailed the website and asked if I could update my shipping address as I made a mistake. This was within 5-10min of making the order. Got an answer back that if I provided an updated address, it wouldn’t be a problem

Turns out DHL delivered to my old address in Texas because the delivery address never got changed or updated

Anyone have any creative ideas about how to get my stuff back? I have a few
family members and friends that could possibly swing by to ask the home owners for it back and then ship it to me

Frustrated at myself and the store

Best bet is probably trying to go to where they were delivered ahead of time and let them know what happened and hopefully they’re honest people.

You might be able to argue that you’re not responsible and that new stones should be shipped correctly since the company agreed to update the address and failed on their end.

General update is that the website refunded my original purchase and gave me a new purchase with the correct shipping address, taking the financial hit on their end, which is greatly appreciated.

Double and triple check your shipping addresses folks!

Also check your email address.

Some websites don't give you a shipping cost until way into the cart process but they also spam the email that is entered (even if you're a guest). By habit, if I have to go that deep to get a full cost, I enter in a fake email and an old work address that is close enough to my home that shipping won't be different. I did that one time, decided to order and change everything except the email. That was a headache to try and get fixed.

USPS: We're waiting for the parcel from our shipping partner for 3 days now.
Canada Post: We don't know what that tracking number is

Also Canada Post today: <ding dong> Duty please, here's your package.

I'll admit that the package has a new Canada Post tracking label on it, but someone didn't do something somewhere.

I just got an email from UPS, stating that they’ll charge an extra 5% on import tax. I guess that means that from outside EU to EU members, we will see an increase on what ever we buy at a total of 35% - That’s 35% of the price of the object + the cost of the shipping in total.

Jup. Got the same e-mail. Rediculous.

I would add to that the brokerage fees +17 euros roughly on every import by ups, DHL and FedEx in my experience. All the three above apply vat on a higher fixed value than what you payed (called statistical value where they take in account freight costs and other stuff). In the end 40% import fees is very likely to happen 😬

Has anyone had any experience with FedEx losing a package? One sent to me recently was sent express from the USA to Australia … that was 12-13 days ago. The parcel hasn’t moved from a city not that far from the origin point since 4 September.

I have read online that FedEx has a reputation for losing parcels, particularly valuable custom goods like guns, knives, ornaments and heirlooms. This makes me suspicious of theft and quite concerned. Not much that can be done other than letting them ‘run a trace’ and if nothing shows up, lodging for insurance pay out, right? It’s a bit unacceptable if custom, one of a kind items to be overrepresented in the category of items that go ‘missing’…
