Get rid of sticker?

Okay, so I am new to Japanese knives and just got some. Do you guys remove the little sticker on the handle or keep it? Is it like wearing a new suit with the price tag still on?

I leave them. Some will come off over time and that's ok too.

Thanks for asking, I wondered that one myself. I have purchased some knives used with sticker like new, partly off / worn off but still there.

My TF nakiri still has the sticker on It. It’s really up to you. I would normally remove a sticker, but I thought it was funny that it was on my TF so I left it.

Lol it turns out it’s like wearing a new suit with a tag on the buttons in particular. I left mine on, didn’t want to risk Goo Gone stink.

Stickergate strikes again.
I only leave them on if there is a chance I might resell. The TFs I have were the only ones with stickers and these are keepers so the stickers are history.

I thought you need to leave them on, like the screen protectors that come with factory fresh gadgets and phones, the stickers advertizing how many megapixel your camera has and indeed clothing labels ;-)

Flip the stickers to the true flippers

Ironically, the stickers read “remove after purchase,” but gaijin cannot decipher the code.

I remove the sticker immediately—seems silly to leave them on IMHO.

My process soon after receiving a brand new ho wood wa handle knife includes—remove sticker; sand down handle with a progression of sandpaper; treat with gunstock oil.

I usually put em in the dishwasher under quick cycle to remove the stickers.

Keep the sticker. Helps hold the handle together when your prep cook uses it to smash lemongrass.

It says "real water buffalo", as in the horn is made from real horn of water buffalo
