blank blades CPM-M4. Patina is slower but definitely patina. Excited to see how much this will develop as the PM steels seem to patina slower.
Interesting for me because I can't seem to get the Yoshikane's SKD/A2 to patina.
+1. My yoshis see pretty heavy use as the beater lasers and they only get a slight haze in the right light. cpmM4 is another tool steel correct? Remember it from spyderco limited runs

Powdered metallurgy high speed tool steel. Really good stuff, tough and very abrasion resistant
Yep on the yoshis. at this point i think a2 is stainless. I think m4 is a semi stainless steel and this ver is a powder metallurgy version of it.
MSicard Wolfram Special Patina post meal prep - I love how the nickel layer gives it a nice contrast. Can’t recommend his work enough

Fun little experiment (from a Suiboku with the original finish I already ruined by accident) :
- Patina with hot meat from a reset
- Hot coffee dip for 30+ mins
- Pretty purple, blue, & gray patina

I love it. Great little knife. I've been using it for a few years. I took mine down to a zero edge with a light microbevel and haven't seen a chip.
