Hello everyone,

I just received a replacement for a Demeyere Proline 28 cm pan that had a crooked handle.

I've noticed that the new pan wobbles very slightly when pressed in one spot. I then checked the other pan and it does the same, but in a different spot. The pan doesn't tilt noticeably, but you can clearly hear a noise that suggests that it lifts a bit.

I've tested this on several different surfaces and the places where I need to press to make them wobble is always the same.

Could anyone who has such a pan verify that this is normal?

Here is a video:

And here is a photo of the bottom when cold. The game seems quite large. I presume this is normal, but would like to have this confirmed as well.

Thanks a lot!

I just tested on mine and none were wobbly on my countertop (N=6).
If anything it should be the opposite on a cold pan. They should have a very slight bulge upwards in the center exactly to prevent them from becoming wobbly when hot.

It is concave in the center. The cause of the wobble isn't a convex bottom in my case. Maybe this wouldn't even qualify as wobbling to you. I'm not sure if I'm too sensitive to this and it's normal.

For the price I’d ask for a warranty replacement, it’s an expensive pan
This is already the third one. The previous two had incredibly crooked handles. I'm just not sure what is normal for these pans anymore. It's not excessive wobble.
does it wobble when hot or only when cold?

.
I will check tomorrow, but the problem is that it's hard to test while hot and on a glass cooktop that I believe gives in a tiny bit if you press hard.

Just saw the picture, it's actually normal, most fully cladded pan and carbon steel are build like this now to avoid downward wrapping on induction
It's just the degree that surprised me. I figured it's normal, but I'm used to pans barely allowing some light to pass.

The wobble is more concerning, but maybe it's normal too and all of them do it when a specific part of the rim is pressed.

I'm just a bit worried that this means it won't have the best contact possible with a glass cooktop even when hot.

By crooked do you mean their welding point looks like this? This is my Atlantis

No, it was a defect. They replaced it under warranty. The right side of the handle was attached a centimeter lower than the left one. Twice.
Gotcha. Sometimes Demeyere F&F can be a miss, if you want to return and consider another brand Cristel Castel pro multiply or Casteline and Fissler are also good

Well, first I would need to know if this wobble is normal or not. I can't even tell why it happens since the bottom is concave when cold.

I only handled Demeyere proline at store, but they are flat, no wobble, my Atlantis and Zwilling Aurora (Demeyere OEM) does not wobble too

The only SS pans I have that never had any warping are my Demeyere proline and Atlantis pans. I cold shock the them all the time. Never had a problem. Interesting that yours is warped when new (if I understood you correctly)

I am not certain. I am trying to find out if this very quiet noise is normal when pressing on the rim in one spot is normal or not.
