That tomato cutting at 1:50 reminds me of life before my knife addiction.

Using scissors on food and not just food packaging seems to be a ... cultural thing in some cultures thing, like using kettles to make soup in ... advice to use scissors to shorten cooked noodles isn't infrequently found in recipes of asian origin...

Better if people use scissors, in absence of a pizza wheel, than serious cooking knives on a hard plate, no? Though "not burning yourself" scissoring properly hot and juicy pizza could be tricky...

I don't really get it, scossors are great for cutting pizza.

I don't have anything against using scissors for pizza. But making a video showing people how to do so is a different story.

But wasn't it you, yourself, who made a video showing people how to cut pizza with a Kato gyuto?

:rofl2:

I laughed at the three-cheese-blend chef when he affected a French accent to say 'Parmizhan' (0:22).

I'd love to hear him say Roquefort or croque monsieur in an Italian accent.

I wonder if the whole crew managed to keep serious while making an instructional film on how to mix grated cheese!

At least the crisp sandwich woman acknowledges that the whole thing is ridiciulous ("people asked for this, I thought it was a joke").

Is he a 2 time personal chef or a Tuscon professional chef

I did repeat listens and eventually had to read the extended description to find the answer to that question, it was bugging me so much!

At one point I wondered if he could be bragging about his fertility ("I am a two-son professional chef").

How to cut ten slices. Or is it 8?

This... this is knucklehead, right?

I wouldn't necessarily say knucklehead.. Decent trick to know if stranded with dull knives and no sharpening gear.

This... this is knucklehead, right?

Don't know, he definitely made that thing (knife?) less dull without spending a buck, could be a solution in a desperate situation. I can imagine this being handy if I'm at a friends place without equipment and his/her butter soft knife is as dull as the back side. But probably concrete can do the same in that situation.

I mean, I initially thought knucklehead because I winced at the thought of doing it to my own stuff, but it would actually be a nifty trick to use when I'm staying somewhere with a kitchen without another option.

this is kind of long video, but makes me sad to be from same country

I felt like I was watching a Japanese infomercial for knife sharpening.

Mercer should be ashamed of these knife sharpening demos. Jump to 30m 22s where he starts to explain and use the Shapton stones.

Here is another one by the Mercer knife instructor teaching noobs to sharpen knives. He also thinks mineral oil comes from vegetables.

Ahh...Chef Douche and his harem of culinary f**ktards. Some days I hate my profession.
