I say we all gotta weigh in. A gram per mm of edge length gets you in the door, traditional cleavers 2g/mm. Didn’t think the numbers through but it sounds chunky.

Gonna have to use a hatchet to peel your fruit.

Count me in. Last year was arm, this year, fatty sounds better

I'd like to see some fatty spines. 5mm+ chonky boys
Few spineshots here, propably around 6mm out of the handle so nothing extreme but on the chonkier side still

Here’s a @MSicardCutlery workhorse. Very early work I believe. Literally every aspect of his work has improved since then. Still I think this basic workhorse was roughly $200 at the time? He made an exceptional asymmetrical lefty friendly workhorse for me that even though that gnarly choil shot is there, the grind thins towards the tip while still being capable of the toughest tasks I can throw at it. My most used knife…and also the cheapest gyuto in my roll.

Looks great

Here’s a workhorse made for me by Kippington. It was his first commissioned knife sale. He had been tinkering around for awhile and had been making a few things for himself but one day he posted something similar to this and I immediately pmed “OMG will you make me one please?”
Photos were taken late 2017 early 2018. Steel is W2, I don’t recall any real finish and the handle was a small step up from a broomstick but it really packed a punch for $150.

A little while later I slid back into his PMs and asked him to make me the same thing but lighter this time, the proto workpony was born. Don’t quote me on any of this, I’ve dranken quite abit since 2018 so I could be missing a detail or 2. This one was still very cheap comparatively.
