It is more of an issue I think because I took an extreme amount of metal off behind the edge. If you have a bit more care, and maybe leave some of the low spots on the cladding I think you should be safer, you just won't get a perfect polish.Wow thanks for the heads up! Will try to sharpen it only then.......
@jedy617 seemed to have issue at getting it sharp...
Very nice santoku.260mm x 60mm, 226g custom knife with a left-handed grind in AEB-L from @MSicardCutlery. Matt was a pleasure to message with and order from.

I like my Kaeru more that I thought I would. Not the thinnest BTE but the geometry is more sophisticated than I imagined (sort of an S grind with low bevels).Kaeru stainless and munetoshi 210 petty.
Wanted a good stainless beater, came with a nice 204 grans and 51mm heel, 4.9 out of the handle. Not the thinnest bte but it was expected.View attachment 245158View attachment 245159
Any chance you've got pics with a straight edge on top?I like my Kaeru more that I thought I would. Not the thinnest BTE but the geometry is more sophisticated than I imagined (sort of an S grind with low bevels).
My brother is using it these days but I’ll remember to take some pics when I visit.Any chance you've got pics with a straight edge on top?
Mikami nakiri.
Cleaver packaging from Michael. Wicked distal taper and feels very balanced in hand.
